About
Welcome to Future Bistro, a gem nestled at 483 Bloor St W in the heart of Toronto. This cozy eatery caters to both the casual diner and the food aficionado, offering a delightful range of homemade dishes that pay homage to comforting classics. With a commitment to quality and a menu that showcases local flavors, Future Bistro stands out as a destination where warmth meets culinary innovation.
If you're in the mood for a heartwarming bowl of soup, you must try their Homemade Borscht. This vegetarian concoction, infused with red beet and kidney beans, is served with a side of toast for dipping. The version with a dollop of sour cream elevates the experience, adding a creamy tang that contrasts beautifully with the earthy sweetness of the beets. For those seeking a salad, the Borscht & Spring Greens variant pairs the soup with fresh, crunchy greens and your bread choice—be it white, whole wheat, or light rye—for a wholesome meal.
No visit to Future Bistro would be complete without indulging in their decadent desserts. The Red Velvet Cheesecake, set atop a cookie crust, is a feast for both the eyes and taste buds—its rich mascarpone frosting and playful sprinkles create an irresistibly delightful experience. The Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake is equally compelling, featuring a luscious mix of tangy blueberry compote and zesty lemon curd swirling atop a classic shortbread base.
In conclusion, Future Bistro merges tradition with culinary creativity, offering patrons a unique dining experience that warms the heart and satisfies the palate. With a welcoming atmosphere and an intelligent selection of dishes, it’s a must-visit for anyone in Toronto looking to savor comfort food in a modern setting. Whether you're diving into a bowl of borscht or delighting in a slice of cheesecake, Future Bistro is sure to be a delightful culinary journey.
“ This was some of the best, fluffiest French toast I've ever had! Ordered a side of bacon & sausage their holiday peppermint mocha as well and everything tasted amazing. Our food was ready extremely quickly and the staff at the register were so friendly each time we ordered. They also have an incredible bakery section/counter - didn't purchase anything this time around, but would highly recommend either for on the go or dining in! ”
“ Lovely place to have breakfast! The Home fries/Potato wedges were fresh and so crispy. The Hollandaise sauce was a little on the runny side but the food tasted good and fresh! ”
“ A classic in Toronto, Future Bistro is a great place to relax and get cozy over delicious food. The all you can eat pierogies on Wednesdays may be the best deal in the entire city, but you may not get much further than your second serving of them! Hearty and filling, the food will not disappoint. I recommend the coleslaw or the fries over the pasta salad. Nothing is wrong with the pasta salad, but the coleslaw and fries are just wonderful. I would recommend Futures to anyone looking for good bang-for-your-buck or a place that feels homey. The relaxed atmosphere is unparalleled. ”
“ Diner style food place with a lot of space inside. They have a bakery in there too with some goodies I'll come back to! The schnitzel was so yummy and flavorful so I enjoyed it a lot. The pancakes use a different batter (maybe whole wheat or buckwheat?) that made it heavy and a little dense. It was still quite yummy but not the traditional pancakes you'd expect. Totally worth a try! Reasonably priced, too. ”
“ Probably one of the best places in The Annex. The food is great, the counter staff are always friendly, and this place remains an oasis of good times on Bloor. The basement-level bathrooms might be an issue for anyone with accessibility issues. To think, I've lived in this city my whole life, and never did Wednesday Pierogies... ”
“ Whenever I visit TO for my mini vacations, this is always a must for me, there is so much to choose from, I don;t often go to eat a meal I go for the desserts because they sure offer a variety and whether it's cheese cake or a 5 layer cake they have a lot of amazing desserts to choose from. To be able to sit at the window and watch people going about their day and have a great beverage and a fantastic dessert is what a vacation is all about ”
“ I went there just after they opened at 9am. I ordered a cup of drip coffee (only 2.25) that you can choose from dark, medium or hazelnut flavor. I do recommend flavor coffee. It was freshly brewed, so it was quite good:) It seems no one talks about coffee, so I didn’t expect it(sorry). It was surprisingly better than I thought. I would come back to try breakfast plate and a slice of cheese cake next time! ”
“ Went to Future Bistro for the first time in awhile and it was amazing! I order a ham and Swiss meal which came with two side. I chose fries and a salad. I do not consider myself someone with a large appetite however this was two meals for me. The waiter was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. During my visit I saw lost of people order food and enjoy it while studying. I will definitely be frequenting Future Bistro more often! ”
